To be honest it took me a while to write my review as I was arguing with myself whether or not it’s worth making one for a movie like this, and here I am.
Be warned, spoilers ahead. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, get to it and come back right after.
Mavel Studios emphasizes on the opening that it has been ten years since they started building up superheroes and supervillains. Infinity War is the third of The Avengers film series, following The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Avengers: Infinity War may have been the most anticipated movie and is directed by the Russo brothers, Joseph and Anthony who stars everyone including the Guardians of Galaxy. As you may know in trailers, Thanos aims to collect all the Infinity Stones (gems, in the comic books) to wipe out the living half of the universe – just cause.
So the Russo brothers handled this movie quite alright, considering this is such a big production and most of the characters’ individual movies were done by a different director. I can’t imagine the effort they had put in to this film and for that I am impressed.
I’d say that this is a film of desperation in which superheroes are trying to figure out what they can actually do to save the world from Thanos. Most of them don’t even know him by name. They are caught off-guard as he or The Black Order comes without warning through a “flying donut”.
One of the things I love about MCU is the humor as it is always on-point. It amuses me to see all these characters interacting and my favorite part would be the battle in Titan where Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Wong, Star-Lord, Drax and Mantis make plans on how to get the Gauntlet from Thanos if not kill him. I like how the writers picked out certain characters to team up and put in one place to battle, it’s such a brilliant thing to do.
I may have not claimed it here in my blog but if we talk about Marvel, I am an Iron Man groupie. I don’t feel compelled to elucidate why he is not one of the heroes that dies in the movie. I mean come on, Iron Man missing in the next Avengers film? Get outta here! His nano-tech suit is dope by the way. I want one.
I gotta say the scene where Thanos sacrifices Gamora to acquire the Soul Stone breaks me. I am glad I came to know Thanos this way because the trailers kind of markets the film darker than the usual MCU films but nope, I was wrong and it’s fine.
The ending. OMG the ending. Loves and hates it! You be the judge as I believed I had given enough spoilers.
To sum this all up, I would love to see this movie again and I am excited to see what they’re gonna do next considering the few heroes left and perhaps knowing what could Thanos really do whilst having the Hulk getting in to the action this time, hopefully.
I hope this review helps if not annoys you. LOL
Four stars out of five.
Signing off.
